| Michael Schlachter Michael has been photographing people, animals, and places since he was very young. At 12, he realized how much he enjoyed photography and sharing his work with other when he brought back more than a dozen rolls of repetitive, mostly uninteresting, pictures from a trip to see the Grand Canyon. Although his talent and equipment has matured and improved over the years, his delight in recording the world around him and sharing his vision with others has never changed. Michael firmly believes that if his work can influence even a handful of people to change their behavior to impact the environment less, he has achieved his mission. Galeries Chateau Galena Photography's work is currently on display at "Wind Water & Light" in Mahomet, Illinois. Equipment We photograph our images on both digital and film cameras, depending on the situation, and use a Kodak DCS Pro SLR/n and a Nikon F5. Lenses are a combination of Sigma EX and Nikon products. For film, we use Kodak Ektachrome 100 and Fuji Velvia 50. None of our images are digitally altered in any substantial form, although some images have minor exposure correction in Adobe Photoshop -- when a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity happens and something goes wrong, digital tools can make sure that the image is as great as you envisioned it.
